Scarring may or may not affect breastfeeding. A letter appeared in a past
issue of JHL (check 1994, I think) in which the problem was "leaking" milk
from the hole where the ring had been! (As I recall, the mother left the
rings in and baby wasexpected to suckle around them! I think she removed
one on one side to make things easier!) (it takes all kinds, I guess)
I belive this is still an open question and suspect that some would be
affected, while others would not be--why? where is the hole? what would her
milk supply be without such a hole and the resultant scarring and on and
on?
Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
