Hello to everyone!
Since I logged onto Lactnet last week (it has taken me a week to figure out how
to save and print the Lactnet digest) I feel like there is an elevator
conversation at an ILCA conference going on in my dinning room!! (where the
computer resides until further notice). This is pretty terrific!
Until July I'm credentialed as an IBCLC - then I take the ten year retest, and
we will see... - and I have a degree in Community Mental Health. My husband
relocates our family frequently (10X's in 19 years), so my work history in the
field lacks the adjective *continuity*, but I do what I can when I can find the
time around twin teenagers and a three year old (don't ask me what I was
thinking of that night!). Niles Newton once spoke about a woman blossoming
professionally in her late forties/early fifties - I have a few more years to go
and can hardly wait.
Meanwhile, it is wonderful to be here! And a special thank you to Kathleen Bruce
and Kathy Auerbach for all your work - you can always tell a well-mothered
(brain) child!
Jeanine Klaus, MS, IBCLC
