Just had to add my thoughts about the Oprah show. While I was aware
that there were inaccuracies stated about breastfeeding and
childbirth...... I was happy to see that 5 of the 5 guests were
breastfeeding moms (on a show that wasn't specifically about
breastfeeding)! That in itself makes breastfeeding seem "normal". I also
was pleased that the author of the book "Girlfriends guide to pregnancy"
repeatedly said that "if your not sure about breastfeeding, try it for
several weeks before you decide".
It distresses me that we are sometimes so quick to point out the negative
and so slow to notice the positive.
How about writing to Oprah thanking her for mentioning breastfeeding,
and THEN ask her to do a more detailed show with more accurate
information?

PS. I kept hoping that when they were talking about childbirth that
someone would've given the analogy of an athletic event that I've seen
posted here. Since Oprah has done a marathon, I'm sure she would've
been able to relate to that! Would she have wanted to be drugged during
the marathon??
