Since coming to the USA in 1973 from chilly London, I have never adapted the the summmer heat here: in
particular, I suffer from swollen ankles. Last summer, after hearing about the edema reducing properties of
cabbage leaves, my family were treated to the sight of me padding around the house with cabbage leaves
stuffed in my socks. It worked! At least for a short time, the swelling was reduced, but I did draw the line
at going out in public so adorned . . . Is anyone working on an "Essence of Cabbage" that could be applied
topically?
