The management of Group B Strep in the pregnant mother and newborn is much
more complex than the recent comment suggests. Interested Lactnetters are
referred to the published report of the American Academy of Pediatrics'
Committees on Infectious Diseases and Fetus and Newborn. "Guidelines for
prevention of group B streptococcal infection by chemoprophylaxis."
Pediatrics 1992; 90:775-778.

prophylaxis for group B streptococcus colonization: Management and outcome
of newborns. Pediatrics 1994; 93:631-635
