This is reguarding the post on building codes. My husband Larry is a
registered architect with his own company. I showed him the post reguarding
building codes. Larry is liscensed to practice pretty much everywhere so he
said he would check into this and let us know. He thought it was kind of
strange.
It may be a question of hospital size though. If you are adding beds this may
have to do with that. Building codes are often odd because they are put
together by people who are looking at safety issues such as how much rebar
must be placed per square foot of concrete. Rebar is the steel reinforcement
rods
that hold concrete together , so the concrete can hold a certain amount of
weight per square foot. I'll let you know what the code says as soon as I
know.
