I am a recent subscriber to this network.
I have 9 years experience on a mother baby unit, and have been a certified
lactation consultant for 1 year. I recently accepted a job as a lactation
consultant
for a large teaching hospital. This position is "Brand new" at the hospital
and it is
at ground zero as far as structure at this point. I would appreciate any
advice as to
what works as well as what doesn't work.
Here are some stats about the hospital:
The hospital does about 4,000 births a year.
50% are breast feeding at discharge.
We have a 30% high risk delivery rate.
This hospital is currently NOT "Baby friendly"
I start this job on September 19, 1995....
Your help is greatly appreciated!!!!
