Jeffrey's superb letter, doubtless by now amended slightly
to take account of Kathy Dettwyler and Wendy Funk's
pertinent remarks, is a down-to-earth and faithful
translation of the principles laid down in the preambular
and operative paras. of the International Code of Marketing
of Breast-milk Substitutes, esp. arts. 4 (ensuring objective
and consistent information on infant and young child
feeding), 6 (taking appropriate measures to encourage and
protect breast-feeding through the health care system), 7
(the role of health workers), and 9 (the red-flag warnings
that should appear on infant-formula labels). Bravo! Worth
sharing, worth repeating!
