First, teach excellent positioning and latch-on using dolls that they have to
handle - that info is useful for just about any situation. Then teach basics
of milk synthesis - "use it or lose it" concept, also known as "suppy and
demand." Then teach the importance of the baby's access to the breast - the
relationship issues. And lastly, hit 'em hard with some of the health
consequences related to infant feeding. In that order - the most important
stuff is first and last. And give them something to go home with.
Avoid pretests unless required - they waste time and are threatening to many
people. If required, use several segments of videos showing good and bad
latch, and have them identify good and poor breastfeeding.
Good Luck!
