My third child (just turned two) called breastfeeding "me." I'm sure he meant
to say "milk," because I would always ask him if he wanted some milk. But the
term apply expresses the mother-child symbiosis, too! Now that he can talk
better, he calls breastmilk "muk," which isn't nearly as nice. Sometimes he
drinks cow's milk, which I call "cow milk" and he calls "cow mum" -- wierd,
eh?
