All you Lacnetters out there...

One great tip for engorgement or the beginning of a breast infection...

I tell all my moms to buy a "hot, wet pack" which is sold
at medical supply stores. It is a canvas bag filled with sand.
You boil it for five min. in water. Then wrap in towels and
lie down with it on the painful breast.

It is the most amazing thing. The lumps disappear after applying
and nursing a little while. Its better than a shower because most
people dont want to shower for an hour.

And much better than heating pads or hot water bottles.

These hot wet packs come in two sizes - cervical and lumbar.
They are traditionally made for injuries.

I recommend the cervical because it is a little smaller and a
little lighter.
I have headed off many breast infections with this device.
Good Luck!
