Denise:  That sounds like an interesting and stimulating discussion with
those doctors.  As far as the pill is concerned, the "best case scenario"
failure rate is 1 in 100.  Even tubal ligation has a failure rate of
(it's been a while, so don't hold me to it!) of 1 in 300, though this
varies with the type of procedure.  The tubal ligations done at the time
of a C/section, where they actually cut and separate the ends, have a
much much lower failure rate than some of the laparoscopic ones.  In any
case, unless the pill has gotten much better lately, I think that doctor
was wrong by a factor of 10.  Alicia.  [log in to unmask]
