Baby gaining well, crying when waked for feeds
In reference to Sharon Terry who wrote of the baby in the hip brace who
protests when waked for feeds: I would suggest to Mom that she is facing one
of the first tasks of being a mother--ferreting out what is good advice and
what is not so good. It sounds like baby is gaining well. If baby is allowed
to nurse adlib what would happen? (This is what I would ask mom) She can
follow the baby's lead for a day or two, then decide if Mom knows best or
Doctor knows best.
(And if it turns out to be the former, I advise Mom to kindly let Dr. know
the outcome--in a couple of months)
