Hello all. I have been getting many requests from panicky people on "How do
I delete myself?" or "How do I go nomail"..Lots of PLEASE HELP questions.

It is the responsibility of all *users* to learn how to do simple functions
within the listserv. We give instructions on how to do these commands at the
beginning of subscription. I think that a lot of people do not read them,
casting them aside as stuff they don't need. *Everyone needs to read these
and use them!* I also post instructions on net use not infrequently here on
the Lactnet.

We appreciate everyone's efforts to learn and use these simple commands. If
the almost 600 subscribers rely on *us* to do these commands...we will be
chained to the computer terminals, and my back, for one, will not stand it (
I get some sort of sore muscles by the shoulder blades from my poorly set
up (ergonomically, that is) computer.
SO...please PLEASE PLEASE learn these commands. THey are easy. If you can't
do it , after you try, you might ask another Lactnetter for assistance. Use
us as your backup WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS. Then we will be glad to help. But
when one obviously does not even read the instructions, ah , well.........

NOTES to Lactnetters are sent to [log in to unmask] The following
are commands that may be sent at any time to [log in to unmask]
Please remember that if you are going to be away for more than a few days,
and not receiving mail, you should Set yourself NOMAIL. LACTNET generates
about 100 messages per day. If you do not SET LACTNET NOMAIL while away,
you will either have a mailbox full and a warning from your own system, OR
you will be deleted from Lactnet, due to error generation.
