The reference of the article on soy formula is:
Irvine et al, 1995. The potential effects of soybean phytoestrogens
in infant feeding.
New Zealand Medical Journal, 25 May: 208-209.
What a pleasure to find a query that is within my expertise on my first
trip through Lactnet! Let me introduce myself. I am an IBCLC who works in
the Lactation Resource Centre as an information officer. That means I answer
queries from Nursing Mothers' Association of Australia Counsellors (phew,
what a mouthful) and health professionals, and do whatever other tasks need
doing.
Until recently I was also National Coordinator for the Australian Lactation
Consultants' Association.
I came into lactation from teaching Maths and French to secondary school
students
via being a breastfeeding counsellor with NMAA. This was quite a career change,
but not one I regret. I much prefer working with people who want to learn the
information I want to give!
Looking through the list of subscribers, I recognise quite a number of names.
I look forward to getting to know more of you.
BTW the LRC has a collection of almost 11,000 articles on lactation, including
the one referenced above. For details on how to access it, you can contact me
by private email. I'd hate to break the advertising rules on my first message.
Bye for now, Philippa
