information on the use of epsom salts with engorgement problems
( to Jeanne Fisher and others )
With reference to our letter of 31st July.

Add about 2 heaped tablespoons in about 3 pints (or 2 litres) of very warm
water. Immerse breasts in this solution and leave there until the
temperature of the solution returns to about room temperature (about 10-15
minutes). This is not as uncomfortable as you might think. We get the mother
to use  our 2litre icecream containers we get over here (one breast per
container !) and to lean over them. The relief felt is considerable.
