I'm looking for info. on this, I've read my stuff but need some
anecdotal feedback. I had my semi-annual Pap, etc. today. I was
surprised when the midwife said I have a yeast infection! never had one
before, and I have no symptoms. I looked myself, with aid of mirror, and
it is definitely in there.
She sort of told me it is my choice to do something about it, since it
is not bothering me and I guess she assumes it will go away. If i want
to , I can buy some Monistat , etc. Several questions: she told me it's
ok to continue to have intercourse with hubby-did not mention treatment
for him .Shouldn't we both be treated?
Two:I'm still nursing my toddler- who has no symptoms of thrush. I
assume he could get it orally if I have it vaginally, then I would get
it on the nipples! Any comments on this.
Three:treatment- should I get the Monistat or similar stuff, or is it
sufficient to reduce dairy, sugar, and eat yogurt? re:yogurt, should I
just eat it, or is it better to , as the midwife said, roll a tampon in
it and insert? If I do the tampon bit , How often, and how long to keep
it in?
I have to admit, I have been a sugaraholic recently, it is my one
remaining vice in life (that plus reading People magazine!)So, I guess I
set myself up for this, my body is letting me know I need to take better
care of myself.
What happens if I don't use a Monistate-type product? Will it get worse?
TIA,
Ellen in Pittsburgh
