I have anectodal info on a mother who faced a diagnosis of hyperthyrodism
while bf a 4 mo old and a toddler. Her choices included medication,
surgery or radioactive iodine, all of which involved some or complete
weaning. She was motivated to try "nutritional healing" (her term).
With the support of friends (church, S______ distributor) and the consent of
her physician she began a ten day fast. She consumed large quantities of
supplements and vitamins, juiced raw vegetables, drank 1 1/2 quarts of
raw potassium broth daily, and cleansed her colon with enemas. She
drastically changed her dietary habits after the fast, putting off dairy
anf meat temporarily and eating almost all raw food. She lost 2
pounds per week and shed 9 inches from waist and hips. After three
weeks her blood test indicated a drop in the hormone level to normal.
