This is an advance temptation to come to Tasmania for the ALCA National
Conference, 15-18 August 1996. You have heard about the land where nearly
90% of mothers at least initiate breastfeeding, where women make over 1
litre of milk per day, and where the Minister for Health breastfed her son
(I think she did anyway - I know she stayed at home to look after him!).
The last ALCA Conference had over 500 registrants and this one will be even
better.
Gabrielle Palmer is coming plus quite a few other international speakers -
more interest every day. Check your frequent flyer points, check funding
sources, start saving now. Add a bit of tourism while you are here. Meet
Tom Hale who has already expressed an interest in coming.
There will be a notice about the Conference in the coming Breastfeeding
Review and (I assume) JHL and/or Globe, but Lactnetters get the news first.
I can fax or mail the "Call for Papers" if you e-mail me privately with your
fax number or address.
Ros Escott ( Tasmania, Australia)
