Thank you, Becca Black, for your beautifully clear teaching posting about
iron (July 28). The iron issue is a difficult and important one. Although
it is hard for us as research-based professionals to "wait-and-see" what
the "final word" is, I think that we should. I tell *myself* that I should
trust in nature and Darwin. If I *really* believe that human milk is for
human babies, then I should *trust* that the iron, lactoferrin and perhaps
other unknown mechanisms or components of human milk is perfect for the
human baby's needs. It comes down to an article of faith. Do we believe,
really believe, in what we say and do? Judy K. in Israel.
