This mom has a six week old who went from 5'13" Birthweight to over 10 pounds
at 4 weeks. Mom now has severe pain in the opposite breast when baby nurses;
this had started as a tingling and has now progressed to the point where mom
feels she cannot bear it. Mom is having a cyst on her thyroid evaluated ( I
don't know what tests are being done yet), and is running a low grade fever
of 100. No evidence of mastitis; some initial nipple soreness was alleivated
by better positioning.
Any ideas as to what this could be?
Also, any ideas about the possibility of worms being transmitted through
breastmilk?
TIA
