I have a sad situation to share with you all. One month ago one of my clients
delivered a newborn with many anomalies that were essentially life threatening
the parents took the baby home and tube fed him breast milk until last week
when he died. Their insurance company will not pay for the rental of the
breast pump because they don't feel it was medically necessary. Why because
the baby wasn't expected to live very long?!. The OB and Peds docs have both
written letters to the insurance company in outrage. The insurance company
stilled denied the pump.
