Hi all..and Maryelle in particular. I need !HELP! with a case.

Mom , second child..baby boy. BF first son 12 mo no problems. Second son 4
weeks + 2 days. Baby had trouble from beginning latching. High arched palate
and tongue tie. I veritifed tongue tie today. Mother sore. Supplemented from
start with C. G. Sta*t. On day 17, she switched to Enfamil as supplement,
still bf 4 times dzy. Baby developed horrendous diaper rash. like 2nd degree
burns, she describes. Baby having 15 stools/day. yellow water. Baby birth wt
7, 7.  Today weight 11 , 1.

Pediatrician took baby off ALL breastmilk today. MOther's supply down
significantly. Advised to feed baby Nutramigen for 10 days. Baby being
tested for salmonella, ecoli. Family has had slight bouts with diarrhea this
month. Mother just finished antibiotics for UTI. Mother sore.

QUESTION: WHat is protein intolerance?  It sounds like kid has yeast. Mother
has yeast, and soreness from palate and tongue tie. Could baby be reacting
to antibiotics that mother has taken?  Pediatrician will not cut frenum, but
an oral surgeon friend of mine will.

HELP! What is protein intolerance? Does anyoneknow of any kids with protein
intolerance to their own mother's milk? Mother is savvy, and not afraid to
speak up.
