Cool down, Ilene <g>! I would not use routinely recommend the use of a
hairdryer. I am a firm believer in moist wound healing; every mother who leaves
our institution goes home with a container of lanolin (so that if she calls me
with a crack after she's home she doesn't have to run around looking for some
while we try and fix the positioning). Did you see the original post? This
mother has *really unusual nipples*, bumpy and full of skin tags on the tips and
they fold inward when she closes her bra. She had been using lanolin for weeks
but doesn't think it makes a difference. To test whether all those little
crevices are truly getting dry before that nipple folds back, a hairdryer seems
to be worth trying. I told her to try it for a few days, on low, not close, for
a minute or so. We'll see. Any other suggestions are surely welcome!
