You might all blast me on this one but . . .
Nursing, (specifically RN ) has only one entry level: the state board exam.
The state nursing board does not recognize the educational degree only the
clinical content and clinical hours.
Unlike the IBCLE the state board is taken only once. Passing the board only
insures ENTERY LEVEL COMPETENCE. (The nurse is *safe* to begin practice)
CEU's are required to renew the license but nurses do not take the test
again. The same holds true for LVN/LPN's. Yes, they are all generic nurses
but their responsibilities are different. I am one of those nurses who
started out as an aide, then LVN, then RN.
Comparing the IBCLE to the nursing board is like comparing apples and
oranges.
