Re: your query as to WHEN the diet affects breastfeeding.
In Counselling the Nursing Mother page136 it states:
"..... when a woman's diet includes at least 60% of the US RDA's
there is no significant decrease in milk volume.  The actual
point at which milk volume decreases has not yet been determined."
