Hi all. Here comes my 2 agorot worth (about one third of 2 cents!): Like
Kathleen B, I tend to get annoyed with having to wave xeroxes under the
noses of doctors to "prove" my points about breastfeeding or breastmilk,
while they go their merry way and d/c breastfeeding for hypoglycemia
and/or neonatal jaundice, add to the number of routine obstetric ultrasound
scans, perform more c-sections, routinely start IVs on every laboring
woman, forbid all food during labor, etc. etc. *with no proof as to
improved outcome* and no one says a word. I really liked that suggestion
about having to write a prescription for abm. Then, when the baby has an
allergic reaction, or internal bleeding with resultant anemia, let the
parents sue for malpractice. I simply don't understand why the
pro-bottlers aren't on the defensive instead of us.....Judy K.
