My info is similar to KGA's. Also, good old chlorox is a good killer of many
bacteria and viruses, including HIV. May want to suggest client soak in
diluted chlorox (per container instructions) prior to boiling. Add to risks
of "old" equipment:
scratches, rough edges, etc. associated with wear and tear.

Again for any who reuse equipment as demos:
Liability increases when such equipment is used/lent by care provider.

Also, when in another business that sold a few items via a catalog, our
attorney told us to avoid taking items out of manufacturer's packaging to
sell/ship. Liability of care provider increases when care provider rather
than client removes equipment from the package.

For demo instruction even of new equipment, maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask
client to remove and examine for flaws before demo use.

What do others think?

Karen

PS: Also think it would take an advanced degree in bacteriology to be able to
assure anyone that there is absolutely no risk of infection from any kind of
bacteria, virus or fungi from borrowed/used equipment.
