Why was this mother's hgb. 7? Did she hemorrhage? When has it been checked in
the past--at times other than childbearing, pregnancy (when some decrease may
result from hypervolemic dilution), after delivery (with some blood loss),
etc. If taken on numerous occasions, under differing conditions, how has she
been treated--nothing = borderline low, encouraged to take Fe supplement,
etc.? One's hgb. should not be 7.

If she hemorrhaged, has Sheehan's been R/O? Have you tried getting a 1-3 day
breastfeeding/pumping recall, a diet recall, a maternal sleep/rest recall?
How and from what is baby feeding if not at breast? How is diaper count? Ask
about the baby blues--"On a scale of 1-10--1 meaning you are feeling as low,
blue, depressed as you possibly can and 10 meaning you couldn't feel better
mood wise-- where are you?"

Hope this helps get additional data that is of use.

Karen
