Hi Melissa,
It was very interesting to see you bring up the synonomous words,
nursing/bfing.  When I was in school (learning to be a LC) my teacher Chele
Marmet really got on our case if we used the word *nursing*.  She insisted that
we put the word *breastfeeding* into our vocabulary and KEEP IT THERE.  Her
contention is that breasts need to come out of the closet, so to speak.  When
we say nursing, she says we are speaking about care of the ill, which
breastfeeding is not.

I have to comment that I think I really like your attitude better.  Is it
perhaps that I do not feel that I can *change the world* - just make one tiny
step at a time.  And the word *nursing* does conotate a loving and warm
nurturing.  How do the rest of you feel about this?
