Hello to all!!
Just wanted to share my delight and excitement. Today was the final class of
our first breastfeeding peer counselling course. Although graduation ceremony
isn't until late July (due to holiday schedules) they have been sent off,
Breastfeeding Answer Book, Womenly Art of Breastfeeding, t-shirt, log book and
breastfeeding pamphlets in hand. What a fabulous group of strong optimistic
women. Women ranging in age from 16 - 23. Two aboriginal women, 4 adolescent
women, and 3 women in their early 20's who all had first babies in their teen
years. They are heading out, to change the world...or at least a small part
of it, and to make breastfeeding our babies a more supported place to be.
It was a lot like weaning....watching them head off today, knowing that they
will go through doors I have never gone through and reach women I might not
otherwise reach.
Join me in wishing them well, and delighting in the ripple effect they will
cause as they reach out to other mothers, and those mothers reach out to
other mothers, and so on and so on.....

Thanks for being there and listening to my success story ( and their success
story)!
