I have worked with several mothers through the years who
experienced a dramatic drop in milk supply after starting
the mini-pill. I have also seen it have the opposite effect
of increasing a milk supply. There doesn't seem to be any
predictor that I'm aware of. In general it is thought that
if a trial month on the mini-pill is successful the
depo-provera injection should be ok. At least if the
mini-pill causes a drop in milk supply it can be stopped and
the supply should rebound quickly. After the depo-provera
shot there is no way to correct the problem of decreased
milk supply that I am aware of.

This is my first time on-line with Lact-net. My name is
Denise Parker. I am IBCLC and have been associated with LLL
for 15 years.

I'd like to hear more on this issue.
