Dear Lactnet Friends:

Thank you Marsha for that information, you've been active in that arena for
decades.

When I searched, I found this...is endorsement different to signing on?

"The WHA comprises the Ministers of Health of the world's governments, and
their advisers, eminent experts in the field of public health or specific
health issues. Although the United States voted against the International
Code in 1981, thirteen years later the Clinton Administration endorsed the
Code in the WHA Resolution of 1994, giving the International Code the
support of every Member State of the WHA".

Please correct me if I am wrong; I had also heard that the formula
manufacturers went to the Reagen administration and said that the US didn't
have to sign on, that the industry was doing that already. And also that
the Code would be in restraint of trade.

The US values profit over health; never mind that babies are sickened and
that the planet is spoiled, as long as the shareholders have an increase in
earnings. (UGH).

Currently the CDC says this about the Code:

Thank you Marsha, for your life-long dedication!

warmly,
