Hi,

I asked a Diabetoligist in my area if she had some insight, and this is her
response:

There is a great deal of research currently been done on breastfeeding in
diabetes. It’s still generally the best option for the baby for the mum to
breastfeed but I would advise that she seeks expert care and gets her
glucose levels more stable. The fluctuations are often more significant
than the actual value. It is also important what medications are being
taken and that the mum knows how to treat hypos as these can be quite
frequent when breastfeeding

Warm regards
