Hello Friends,
I work as an LC and an RN on a very busy maternity ward. Unfortunatey most
of the infants will receive some formula while they are with us (usually
per the mother's request) Whenever one of the nurses brings up the issue of
changes in the baby's gut flora, one of our most respected LCs responds
that the after 2 weeks of exclusive breastfeeding the baby's gut flora will
return to its natural state, so in essence, no harm is done by giving her a
bit of formula in the first few days. I know that there is harm done but I
would like to have some research to show her.
I would greatly appreciate your input,
Thanks so much,
Chayn Fogelman
