There was a speaker at one conference from Through the Looking Glass. I think her name was Judy Rodgers, if I recall correctly. Here is the organization's website. Through the Looking Glass

Subject: breastfeeding support for parent with visual impairment

Dear Lactnet Friends:

Thank you for asking this question; it sent me to the internet and to my
lactation books

I found little help about working with blind mothers. Kellymom.com had
nothing to offer from a search for 'blind mother' or 'visually impaired
parent.'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOt6ynOoK0E

https://www.121doula.co.uk/breastfeeding/how-i-supported-visually-impaired-parents-with-breastfeeding/

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/1467-9566.12286

Nancy Mohrbacher, on page 866 of Breastfeeding Answers has a few brief
paragraphs on the subject. She points out that it is easier for a visually
impaired parent to breastfeed than to bottle-feed,  Finding out how the
parent usually gains access to information, and use those ways.

I am stunned at how little there is; with information in  the breastfeeding
books  I have focused mainly on the able-bodied. There is a lot of
information about breastfeeding babies with various medical conditions and
physician challenges; there seem to be far less for parents with medical
conditions and physical challenges.

I searched for 'breastfeeding' in the Perkins School for the Blind website.
Nothing. I searched in the site of the National Federation of the Blind.
Again, nothing. There are sites for blind parenting, but nothing about
breastfeeding.

My search is limited to what is available to me.  There has to be more out
there? But where??

Anybody have any ideas?

warmly,
