My big question here would be what the dietician's plan would be if mother stops breastfeeding and the child's feeding problems *don't* improve. At that point, you'd have a situation where a child who still isn't eating is now not getting her nutritional needs in the way she formerly was - and stopping breastfeeding is something that is difficult to reverse if it turns out not to be working. This being the case, I think the dietician should be providing evidence that this measure is likely to be successful, or a clear backup plan for what to do if it isn't.
