I too have found that the prolactin receptor theory is often accepted as fact and would like to know more of the why.  My husband, who is a mathematician / computational neuroscientist uses math to create biological models.  At my request, he used the original prolactin receptor theory research, to build a model.  There was not a lot of data available and he found that the model did not well support the data.
