Yes, a big thank you to Kathleen and the other listmothers - past and present. Pamela says it all so well.
I miss some of the old names that used to contribute here - but I need my daily Lancet "fix".

Kathleen
Bless you for starting Lactnet way back in 1995, and for reminding us now that this is not the same as the Lactnet Facebook group!
Thank you for all the work you've put in over the years to start Lactnet and to preserve it as the wonderful place it is. Thank you too to the current Administrators who help to perpetuate this safe space. I've been a subscriber since 1996 when Lactnet was a revelation - suddenly hundreds of other Lactation Consultants to learn from and brainstorm with - and I've continuously subscribed except for a few days here and there when changing countries. But Lactnet has always remained the same - a very respectful, professional group which continues to nourish and nurture our profession of helping mothers to breastfeed and support each other along the way. to educate, entertain and amuse us...... Unlike the Facebook group of the same name. Anyone who belongs to that will certainly not confuse it with this group since it can be a hazardous experience, and I was excluded a year or so ago.
Thank you Kathleen. Sending good wishes for healing your foot and coping with the arthritis. Enjoy that lovely family including the 4 grandchildren!

Subject: Lactnet - this list, and Lactnet on Facebook
Good morning all. I wanted to say hello, it's been a while. I am Kathleen, one of those who thunk up this list in 1995. I wanted to state, unequivocally, that this list if Lactnet.
The Facebook page is an entirely different kettle of fish. It is not associated with this page, is unaffilated with us, although there may be some overlap in membership.
I realize that there is confusion, sometimes, and people forget. Just wanting to make things clear as glass.
I originated the name Lactnet, as evidenced by the word being published in my letter to the editor, in the JHL, 1995. Thank you... all. I am currently recovering from yet another orthopedic operation on my foot.
Fusion x 3 due to arthritis...(35 years as a nurse). It's been a rough few weeks, but just wanted to say hi and say my thing. Thanks to the List administrators who are working for nothing every day so that you can have access to professional and polite conversation and discourse. Blessings to all....as we approach Mother's Day in the US.
Kathleen, listoriginator of Lactnet, wife of 40 years, mother of 3 grown girls, gramma to 4 under 4 years.
Thanks. Kathleen Bruce RN, BSN, IBCLC retired, LLL retired.
