Dear Chayn

I can't answer your question about caffeine, but I'm wondering why your
poor suffering patients are not whisked back to theatre for a spinal
patch? Mothers who experienced a spinal headache when I was an IBCLC doing
hospital visits would be required to lie absolutely flat, and yes, the pain
was terrible, but they'd be taken off for a spinal patch asap (as soon as
the OB was next in the hospital) which would fix the problem immediately,
and then of course they could sit up and breastfeed in the normal way.
Over 13 years while I was doing hospital visits I never knew one that was
just left to resolve on its own. So of course caffeine was never used.
