In the new Geddes study (Geddes is the lead author & Coentro is first author), the amounts transferred in both groups seem quite low particularly for the older infants in the study. Postnatal ages in the study ranged from 2 weeks to 14 weeks of age, if I'm reading correctly. The mean volumes transferred may be appropriate for age if there were far more 2-week-old babies in the study.
There were 20 dyads in the pain group with infants' ages at 6 weeks postnatal, plus or minus 4 weeks.
In the comparison group, there were 28 dyads with infants ages at 8 weeks postnatal, plus or minus 6 weeks.
Full text will reveal more to us. Looking forward to the discussion!
