Hello, I have a question about the use of nipple shields with inverted nipples. I have colleagues who have differing opinions and haven't found any research one way or the other. One person states she feels that they shouldn't be used if the nipple doesn't evert into shield when baby is latched, the other states baby latches onto areola and not the nipple. I have always been of the opinion that I would at least try and see if it works. Has anyone read anything about whether its necessary for the nipple to stay evert in the shield? Thank you.
