To camp onto Nikki's articulate response...
On many issues, we "don't have enough research yet"--> so when will we have enough research? ---->possibly never, because the NIH here in the U.S and grant agencies all over the world don't prioritize human lactation. And without "enough research" practitioners may continue to decline to change what they're doing...
And if there IS enough research? Or at least a strong defensible rationale for changing an approach? Apathy. Again, we don't value breastfeeding or human milk.
