Dear Kristen:
A baby's mouth is their organ of imprinting, and a source of information
about the world as well as for feeding. This poor baby.
For how long has this baby been hurt in its mouth? At least 6 weeks.
My plan would include as much skin to skin as baby will enjoy, remedial
co-bathing, craniosacral therapy (for mother and for baby) to clear the
energy of that pain and trauma, baby wearing, breastfeeding during sleep,
and/or while baby is in motion. The baby needs complete control over
everything that goes in its mouth. Dipping the soother in breast milk,
yes! Games with the lips that are so much fun, and the parent's finger
could be dipped in milk too.
Will baby feed from a cup?
This is a tough one, Kristen. This family will need lots of loving
listening and encouragement until the baby will feed again.
warmly,
--
