PTP: a primip mom with two week old baby recently sought counsel because of hand pain (tingling, throbbing) that is making breastfeeding difficult, and she wonders whether it could be breastfeeding-related. It happens at times that seem (to me) unrelated to feeding (upon waking, sometimes when feeding, but sometimes not). She’s using the laid-back breastfeeding position so it doesn’t seem like she would have nerve issues/carpal tunnel from holding baby. Has anyone heard of anything similar?
Many thanks in advance,
Sarah Bedford
