Recent post stated: "Nursing in public is now legal in every US state. Idaho was last state to pass law!!! Finally. Yeah!!! " My question is, Was it ever actually illegal? In most cases I believe complaints against public breastfeeding was based on interpretation of indecency laws, not specific laws against it. We should be saying that the right of an infant to nurse undisturbed whenever and wherever the need arises is now protected. I also firmly wish we would put it terms of the right of the infant more than the right of the mother. Putting it that way takes the wind out of the sick argument that it's all about a woman wanting to"flip it out and expose herself".Winnie Mading, retired, but still advocating
