I have a new mom, 24 hrs post RCB, who is exclusively pumping for her daughter. Yesterday, she obtained drops. Today, her colostrum looks watery, serous color and has white particles floating. Has anyone seen this before? To me, colostrum consistency and color can vary and it should be fine.
Just a bit of mom's history, she states she developed mastitis early after delivering her previous child, became septic and spent 4 days in the ICU. She states she was on antibiotics the entire 7-8 months that she pumped. She was told that she contracted a bacteria form the baby and was told not to put the baby to the breast.
