Goodness Amy, I feel for your friend, it sure looks hormonal. She would not
be the first to have these type symptoms during and/or after weaning:

You say all labs normal, wondering if that included hormone levels? If
not, she could get those levels drawn then wait it out, or Maybe, wild idea: ?
consider some pumping ? and see what happens, see if she feels better,
then *very gradually wean off pumping. She still may rebound to some of the
same symptoms after weaning off pump, even ever so gradually.
Will be watching Lactnet to see how it goes, how long it last.

My friend, a 36 y/o G2P2, has a 2-1/2 year daughter who recently self
weaned. Since weaning 1 month ago, mom has experienced a myriad of symptoms
that remain unexplained and she wondered if it could be due to hormonal
changes as a result of weaning? Prior to weaning, mom stated she "never felt
better!" She is not pregnant. She exercises regularly, eats and healthy
diet and is of normal BMI.
Here are some symptoms: headaches and nausea, irregular menstrual
bleeding occurring 2 weeks s/p last menses,
fatigue, hot flashes, fever, chills, night sweats, emotional changes
(anger: highly atypical for her). All of her lab work has been normal (thyroid,
too).
Any thoughts?
Thanks for any ideas. : )
Take care,
Amy
