Alla asked for evidence based reviews on the real situation with co-sleeping and the breakdown on the misgivings of the "official" anti co-sleeping studies.
The 2015 Gold Lactation On-Line Conference currently going on (until June 1) has a special add-on section of 5 lectures on this topic. I listened to them and they are excellent.
The "Sweet Sleep" book has a whole section assessing the flaws in the studies used to promote anti-bedsharing messages. See chapters 19 and 20.
Here are some additional resources that may be of help:
An article against bedsharing, (with a more complex critique below):
Carpenter, Robert, Cliona McGarvey, Edwin A Mitchell, David M Tappin, Mechtild M Vennemann, Melanie Smuk, and James R Carpenter. “Bed sharing when parents do not smoke: is there a risk of SIDS? An individual level analysis of five major case–control studies”. BMJ Open, Volume 3, Issue 5. 20 May 2013. http://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/3/5/e002299.full
Note the responses at the bottom of the article. (This study is strongly criticized).
