Hi all!
I am an RN, IBCLC and live in the US. I am feeling frustrated by the many simple anterior tongue ties which I see come through my office, then watch them wait for an appt with an MD or PA specialist, while mom's milk supply dwindles. I'd like to be trained in frenotomy and take care of simple cases myself. I've been poring over the Internet tonight and find trained RNs performing the procedure in the UK and Canada but no such cases in the US. I'd love to hear from Registered Nurses in the US who clip tongue ties as apart of their practice. How were you trained? Are you apart of any professional group? This is uncharted territory at my workplace but my manager is supportive. Thank you for any or all your input!

Jen Plitt, RN IBCLC
